1. Transparent mid-walls

If you’re renovating a small home, then here’s a trick that can make your space so much more interesting. Instead of going for typical brick or even wooden partition walls, you can opt for transparent glass. Take a look at this image – the media wall is partially made of glass, with the wooden part added only to support the LCD. Its effect on the overall space, however, is truly amazing.

 2. Exchange the dynamics

If you’re tired of the same old boring white walls, white ceiling dynamic then here’s a pro-tip from major designers. You can actually paint your ceiling a nice, matte shade of black while maintaining the stark whiteness of the walls. This contrasting effect will add an aura of understated glamour to your home!

 3. Be bold with your furniture

Furniture is that one part of your interior design that can be used to imbue contrast within the whole space. This is why you need to make it as bold as possible if you want your spaces to be filled with character. The dining table set, sofas and even coffee table in this image are an excellent example of how you can do so while complementing the rest of your ambiance.

 4. Break the monotony

The best designer-approved way to break the monotony of your space is by using artwork and photography to create contrast. You don’t have to go for full-scale gallery walls because those are definitely losing steam in the design world, but you can certainly go for few choice statement art pieces that can be hung in all the major placeholders in your home.

 5. Accentuate lighting

One thing that all designers will tell you is that you need to pay special attention to lighting – especially in the circulation areas. Most homeowners only just pay attention to the lighting on specific areas, which means that the circulation spaces end up acting as dark spots. So you should definitely be careful about how you light it up.
