What Colours And Accents To Pair Wood Textures With

The wooden texture is a universal favorite. It’s so naturally attractive that one cannot help but use it in their spaces without abandon. However, like all things, it has to be used in moderation and needs to be balanced with other textures/materials/colors. So, further we’ll be taking a look at what colors and accent to pair your wood textures with:

1. Coloured fabric

Wooden textures play nice in contrast with dark and vivid colors. The trick is to not choose a shade that is too neon bright or dull. Electric blue is a great compromise and so is white, grey, and dark brown. The entire neutral palette works really well in this case. You also have to ensure that the furniture piece with the colored fabric is large enough to have an impact on the wooden elements of your space.

2. White laminate

Wood and white is a classic combination and has become timeless over time. There’s something about the neat starkness of the white color that makes wooden textures feel even more attractive. This modern combination is a gorgeous one and looks best when articulated on in-built furniture items like shelves, media walls, etc.

3. Glossy tiles

Wooden textures have a naturally rustic aura, so you have to be very thoughtful about using them in modern spaces. A great way to elevate their presence is by pairing them up with glossy surfaces. This can mean tiles, stone surfaces, and laminates. However, glossy floor tiles hold a category of their own because they’re extensively used throughout the home and have the ability to contrast the wood more wholesomely.

4. Gold accents

Gold colored accents have a way of sprucing up wooden textures. They can be emulated in the form of lighting or metal accessories – whatever suits your theme. Accessories have to be large enough to be clearly seen in contrast with wood. But lighting can be used in moderation in contrast.

5. Leafy indoor planters

Plants look really well with wooden textures because they have the ability to naturally complement brown surfaces (like tree barks). So featuring a few leafy greens throughout your home can only enhance the overall presence of your wooden highlights.
