Designing a bedroom could be a challenging task due to the limited space. There are a lot of design hacks that you can use to make the most of this space. In fact, many designers across Singapore have come up with unique and creative ways to make such a small space the pinnacle of luxury living. With the right designs, you’ll even feel like you’re living inside your very own luxury hotel suite!
1. Don’t overdo the communal space

The communal space or the living area in a bedroom has to be very carefully consider. You cannot design it as a typical living room because there is definitely not enough space to accommodate a full couch. So instead, you should just go with a unique chair setting with a small study nook to make the space as expressive and visually uncluttered as possible.
2. Neutral colors

The color scheme you use for a bedroom has to be decidedly on the neutral side. You cannot use too many bold colors or your space will have too much personality to be visually pleasant. Instead, go for a soft, Scandinavian style color palate that can enhance the visual quality of your space without adding too much personality to it.
3. Careful partitions

Take note of the fact that you cannot have too many permanent partitions in a space as small as a bedroom. Instead, go for temporary partitions – sliding doors that can be closed and opened at will to maximize the utility of your space. This kind of flexibility is best when you’re designing the interior of a small space.
4. Accent lighting

Accent lighting is a great way to accentuate the good parts of your interior design. You cannot very well have a huge Baltic chandelier in the middle of a bedroom. So you should go for smaller accent light fixtures like pendent lights and suspended bedside lamps. They’re smaller but have just enough impact to make an instant impression.
5. Don’t waste the terrace space

If you’re lucky enough to have a terrace attached to your bedroom, then make sure you make the best of it. Use large French window to let in as much natural light as possible and go for lots of glass panes to emulate an upscale aesthetic.
