The Scandinavian style usually enjoys tons of natural wooden accents along with an emphasis on simplicity. However, what will happen when you amplify the wood and tone down the design elements? It’s an interesting concept that hasn’t been explored all that much, but the Hue Concept team went along with this theory and ended up with an earthly Scandinavian style. This particular style mainly requires a lot of wood element and minimal on the casual design accents. Let’s take a look at just how they achieved it!
1. Altering the perspective
Since the idea is to go heavily for wood without compromising the size and dimensions of the existing space, the designers had to be very clever with their articulation. While the entire floor has been used to emulate the dark theme, most of the walls have been left white. However, the complementary stroke of cabinetry and a simple painted shape has completely transformed the aesthetics of the space into something more!
2. Go for simplicity, it is never wrong
The Scandinavian style equals to simple design, so going for complicated furnishings can ruin your entire space. Applying the light wooden accents that complement an all-white theme for the bedroom in order to avoid a plenty of visual textures and the subsequent claustrophobic spaces. Definitely, it can be very challenging to accomplish this task. However, there is a fine visual balance between all the materials used in the bedroom.
3. Herringbone with a twist
The herringbone floor pattern helps adding a lot of personality to a space. It is the perfect choice when you want to amplify your typical Scandinavian style theme. Meanwhile, wooden element is quite important while oak and ash are good choices as well. But if you’re going for instant impact, then cherry tinted wooden texture is the best way to go for.
4. Wooden furnishings for the win
The right furniture selection is extremely important when emulating the Scandinavian style. As the focus material for this earthily Scandinavian style project is wood, most of the furnishings have been carefully curated to feature the best of wood. To make sure that there’s not an overwhelming amount of texture in the space, the designers went for a purely white theme for the backdrop.
5. Comfy on the side
It’s imperative that the comfort never be compromised in any style. Therefore, one must always furnish their homes accordingly. For this project, the Hue Concept team expertly balanced out the Scandinavian vibes with comfy and plush seating that suits the overall ambiance perfectly.
6. Carry the theme
Bear in mind that it is always important that the theme speaks in every aspect of the design. So, whether it is the bathroom or the kitchen, it is vital to go for the wooden accents as per the earthily Scandinavian theme’s requirement!
